Who am I?

Bio:

I am a violinist, producer, songwriter, and passionate lover of oatmeal.

Biooo:

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Midwest, progressive, Irish-Catholic, hippy-parent vibes. (Kind of a niche and interesting culture, I’ve realized?) I was lucky enough to have some incredible teachers, including my longtime Suzuki violin teacher Loren Abramson and the whole squad of teachers involved in Jazz St. Louis’ JazzU program. It’s truly a world-class jazz education program.

For college, I shipped off to Philadelphia where I studied Jazz Violin Performance at Temple University under the sweet tutelage of Zach Brock. I lived in Philly for ten years and worked as a musician, teacher, dance-class accompanist, and, briefly, barista. During my time in Philly, I performed or recorded with some local, national, and international legends, including Jazmine Sullivan, Kehlani, The Stylistics, Whitney, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Mingjia Chen, Mitamu, Bismuth Quartet, V. Shayne Frederick, Sophie Coran, BalletX, and Dot Gov, among countless others.

I’ve been living in Berlin for almost a year and following the, perhaps now relatively played-out, story arc of moving to Europe and writing a bunch of Americana. But I promise I’m not doing it on purpose!! I think there is something true and shocking about yanking yourself out of a place in order to see just how much of the hometown sludge lingers on you—and is perhaps baked into you forever. All that to say, I’ve got some music coming down the pike. If you see me in person and I haven’t released anything yet, please tackle me.

I am delighted to have become quickly enmeshed in a vibrant scene of songwriters and musicians in Berlin. I have been playing violin, piano, guitar, and singing with as many beautiful musicians as I can. I’m in the process of producing some music with many of these people, as well. New music coming soon!
